Grove Village Scoops Prestigious Award

Grove Village wins prestigious 'PFI Project of the Year' Award Grove Village Ltd was recently short-listed and subsequently won the prestigious 'PFI Project of the Year' Award at the 2008 Building Awards which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London earlier this month.

The award recognises the incredible transformation of a decaying, crime ridden Mancunian estate into a sustainable, mixed tenure urban village where current and new owners and occupiers are choosingto live.  It acknowledges the impact of this pioneering project on community regeneration in the Uk, and recognises the hard work of all those involved.

To understand the extent of what has been accomplished, you have to talk to someone who knows the area, like resident Rita Moore. Her verdict is as follows: "My quality of life has improved 100%. It has the feelgood factor, the home improvement, safety and sense of community."

The consortium comprises MJ Gleeson Group (49%), Harvest Housing Group (25.5%) and Nationwide Building Society (25.5%).

Gleeson Regeneration is delivering the new-build homes for sale and Powerminster Gleeson  Services is providing estate maintenance through a 30-year contract.  Gleeson Capital Solutions manages the project company.
